When your pet is sick or injured, Springs Veterinary Care is equipped with digital radiographs (x-rays) for fast analysis of the problem. Your pet’s digital radiographs are available for viewing immediately on-screen without the processing time of traditional film x-rays. This helps our veterinarians get to work devising a strategy for treatment immediately.

Common reasons for dogs and cats to have radiographs are:

  • Bone fractures
  • Heart disease
  • Gastric and/or intestinal foreign objects
  • Respiratory disease
  • Orthopedic disease
  • Neoplasia (cancer)

Diagnosing Potential Eye Issues with Tonometry

When your pet's eyes are checked during an exam, a further look may be necessary. Springs Veterinary Care offers your pet tonometry as part of our ophthalmology services. Using an instrument called a tonopen, our doctors are able to calculate and measure the pressure of the fluid of the eye. This is important for pets with suspected diseases of the eye, such as glaucoma.

If you notice any of the below symptoms, bring your pet to Springs Veterinary Care for additional eye screening:

  • Red or irritated eyes
  • After your pet has suffered head or eye trauma
  • If your pet is being monitored for glaucoma
